Following the announcement of the Legislative Assembly General Election – 2026 by the Election Commission of India, arrangements have been made for postal voting for persons with disabilities (more than 40%) and voters aged 85 years and above in the ten (10) Assembly constituencies under Coimbatore district, in order to avoid the difficulties they may face in visiting polling stations.
In this regard, to obtain the consent of such voters, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit their residences in person with Form 12D and the electoral roll. During their visit, voters are requested to read or have the form read to them, indicate their preference, submit copies of any required documents if asked, sign the form, and extend their cooperation to the district administration.
Further, persons with disabilities (above 40%) and voters aged 85 years and above may also submit their willingness for postal voting through the Booth Level Officers or by visiting the office of the Returning Officer in person and submitting Form 12D, duly signed to the designated official, on or before 03.04.2026.
Respected persons with disabilities and voters aged 85 years and above are requested to extend their cooperation to ensure the forthcoming Legislative Assembly General Election is conducted smoothly and fairly.
