Polling Schedule Announced for Coimbatore Constituencies

In view of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly General Elections – 2026, as per the notification issued by the Election Commission of India, and under the powers conferred by Sections 30 and 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the date and time for polling have been fixed for all Assembly constituencies in Coimbatore district.

Accordingly, polling in all Assembly constituencies of Coimbatore district will be held on 23.04.2026 (Thursday) from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Further, all voters who are standing in the queue at the polling station before 6:00 PM will be allowed to exercise their right to vote, even if polling continues beyond that time.

Voters are requested to visit their respective polling stations within the specified time and bring their Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) or any one of the 12 alternative identity documents approved by the Election Commission of India, and cast their votes while maintaining law and order and strictly following election rules.

Additionally, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, provisions for Home Voting and Postal Ballot have been made for the following categories of voters who are unable to vote in person:

  • Senior citizens aged 85 years and above
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
  • Individuals engaged in essential services
  • Officials on election duty

Eligible voters under the above categories will be provided this facility if they apply within the stipulated time using the prescribed forms Form 12D / Form 12.

For senior citizens above 85 years and persons with disabilities, Home Voting will be carried out by visiting their residences, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. These processes will be video recorded and conducted with necessary security arrangements.
