Liquor Shops Closed in Coimbatore Border Areas Ahead of 2026 Kerala Elections

As the Kerala Legislative Assembly General Election of 2026 is scheduled to be held on 09.04.2026, under Section 135(C) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, all government liquor retail shops and the bars attached to them, as well as licensed premises from FL2 to FL11 (excluding FL6), located within a 5 km radius of the border areas of Coimbatore district adjoining the state of Kerala, have been ordered to remain closed.

This closure will be in effect from 10:00 AM on 07.04.2026 until 12:00 midnight on 09.04.2026 (polling day). (PDF 282KB)
