All Liquor Shops and Bars to Remain Closed on October 2 on the Occasion of Gandhi Jayanti

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, all licensed premises in Coimbatore District, including Government liquor shops and bars (FL1), bars functioning in recreational clubs (FL2), bars in star hotels (FL3), Tamil Nadu Hotels (FL3A), bars operated through the Tourism Department (FL3AA), and outlets selling imported foreign liquor (FL11), have been ordered to remain closed on 02.10.2026 (Friday) as a Dry Day.
The District Collector, Thiru. Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, I.A.S., has informed that appropriate action will be taken under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, against persons who sell liquor in violation of the regulations, illegally stock liquor, or transport liquor from one place to another on the said date.
