ANIMAL HUSBANDRY DEPARTMENT – COIMBATORE   DISTRICT

Specialised Veterinary Health Care and Awareness Camps 

In Coimbatore District   for the benefit of Livestock reached by farmers in reserve village.   240 camps have been conducted under Special Veterinary Health and awareness camp scheme (20 Village for Panchayat Union) from 14.10.2023 to 20.03.2023.

Village under KAVIADP   scheme has given priority for   conducting above special camps

Under the Specialized Veterinary Health and Awareness camp free treatment, sick animals, Deworming, Vaccination, Castration, AI neutering treatment, Minor Surgery, Uterine medical

To increase milk production and increase reproduction of cattle and to avoid sterility in animals, 61 kg of miner mixture in each camp   provided to farmers for free of costs.   And also advice was given to the farmers a vaccination doubts regularly animal husbandry Department

In Coimbatore District under SVHAC (2022-23 & 2023-24) training has been given to 625 farmers about the infrastructure of Animal Husbandry production, Animal tagging State Animal Husbandry   policy and calf racing with a total financial allotment of Rs.62500/- (Rs.100/- per farmer)

NADCP   –   FMD   Vaccination

Infectious  disease  of cattle  causes  death  of cattle  and economic  loss  to a farmers So,  in order to  prevent the cattle  from getting  infected  by the  above  disease .  234400 doses of vaccines. Have been received by the Animal Husbandry Department. In Tamil Nadu  Government through  National Livestock   and vaccination   work as  carried out from 01.03.2023bTo 11.04.2023 for  buffaloes  and Oxen  above 4 months of age  for these vaccination project 86 teams More under Leadership of Veterinary Assistant surgeon,   whose  teams  went to directly  respective areas and administered vaccine free of cost.

NADCP   –   FMD   Vaccination

Have been  received  by the Animal Husbandry Department  National Livestock   and vaccination   work as  carried out from 09.08.2023bTo 30.08.2023 for  buffaloes  and Oxen  above 4 months of age  for these vaccination project teams more under Leadership of Veterinary Assistant surgeon,   whose  teams  went to directly  respective areas and administered vaccine free of cost.

NADCP   –   Brucellosis   Vaccination

              In order to prevent  the Brucellosis disease  in cattle  and to prevent  farmers from economic  loss  under NADCP  Scheme  26000 doses  vaccine  has been  administered  to female calf  (age  between  4 to 8 months )  from 01.02.2023 to 08.03.2023  and 16.06.2023 to 14.07.2023 by  Animal Husbandry Department  in Coimbatore District.

Lumpy Skin    Vaccination

                      In Coimbatore  District  awareness campaign  were  conducted  to the  farmers through Special Veterinary  Health and Awareness camp in order to prevent these cattle  from getting  infected by lump skin disease. In continuation to the  above campaign  from 14.11.2023 to 18.02.2023  in 190000 doses  vaccines have been  Administered to the prevent the above disease in  cattle  by the Animal Husbandry Department in Coimbatore District.

In continuation to the  above campaign  from 14.11.2023 to 18.02.2023  in 190000 doses  vaccines have been  Administered to the prevent the above disease in  cattle  by the Animal Husbandry Department in Coimbatore District.

Integrated Fodder Development Mission

n order  over come the shortage  of fodder  crops s for livestock’s in Coimbatore District,  under  IFDM  schemes  inter groping  of fodder crops has been  taken up  by the formers in 200 Acres of farm land  with  Financial  Assistance of Rs.3000/- per acre  at a total cost of rupees six lakhs by the Animal Husbandry Department .   Livestock farmers small  and marginal farmers and women beneficiary  were given  priority  in the above  scheme.

Developing   Entrepreneurship   Through   Fodder   Production

To   increase  the milk production of cattle  and to improve  of quality  of life of farmers,  the  scheme of increasing  Green fodder  production by the providing  from  equipments and machinery  under 25 %  subsidized  rate with a total    cost of Rs.10.50 lakhs  has been  implemented  Animal Husbandry Department  in Coimbatore District .
