Guidelines Relating to the Immersion of Lord Vinayagar Idols

Tamil Nadu has one of the finest traditions in the country regarding protecting the environment. It is the duty of every citizen to protect our environment and safeguard our water bodies (sea, lakes and river etc.,) in order to ensure that our drinking water sources are maintained pristine and pure. In this regard, the public are requested to celebrate Vinayagar Chathurthi festival by immersing the idols only in the locations notified for each district by the District Administration and following the CPCB guidelines for idol immersion (available in the TNPCB website www.tnpcb.gov.in), to protect our water bodies.
