Karate and Silambam Training for Female Students in BC, MBC and DNC Hostels
The Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered the provision of basic training in Karate and Silambam, traditional self-defence arts, to school and college-going female students residing in Backward Classes (BC), Most Backward Classes (MBC) and Denotified Communities (DNC) hostels in Coimbatore district.
Karate training will consist of 36 sessions over three months, while Silambam training will consist of 24 sessions over two months.
Eligible institutions with the required qualifications and experience may submit their applications to the District Backward Classes Welfare Office, Coimbatore District Collectorate, by 5.00 PM on 15.09.2026.
District Collector Thiru. Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, I.A.S., has informed eligible institutions to submit their applications within the stipulated time.
