PM YASASVI Scholarship Scheme for OBC, EBC and DNT Students

The Central Government is implementing the PM YASASVI Top Class Education in Schools scheme to provide scholarships to students belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and De-Notified Tribes (DNT).

For the academic year 2026–27, eligible students from Tamil Nadu studying in Classes 9 to 12 in schools listed as Top Class Schools on the National Scholarship Portal may apply for the scholarship.

Under the scheme, financial assistance of up to ₹75,000 per year for Classes 9–10 and ₹1,25,000 per year for Classes 11–12 is provided towards tuition and hostel fees. 30% of the scholarship is reserved for girl students. The annual family income should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.

Students who received the scholarship during 2025–26 and are studying in Classes 10 or 12 during 2026–27 should complete their renewal application by 30.09.2026. The last date for school verification is 15.10.2026.

The application date for fresh applicants studying in Classes 9 and 11 will be announced on the National Scholarship Portal.
