Tick Fever in Cattle: Farmers Advised to Take Preventive Measures and Seek Immediate Veterinary Treatment

Publish Date : 03/11/2026

Tick Fever is an infectious disease transmitted to cattle through ticks. Symptoms include high fever, reduced feed intake, decreased milk production, weakness, and the passing of red or coffee-coloured urine. To prevent the disease, cattle and cattle sheds must be kept clean, and regular tick-control measures should be undertaken. If symptoms are observed, farmers are advised to immediately consult a veterinary doctor and obtain appropriate treatment, informed the Regional Joint Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry.
