Abandoned Baby Girl “Poovizhi” at Government Hospital: Claims Can Be Made Within 30 Days
A female child was born on 27.04.2026 at Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital. The child was left at the hospital and was subsequently rescued by the District Child Protection Unit staff and produced before the Child Welfare Committee on 08.07.2026. The Child Welfare Committee named the child “Poovizhi.”
Anyone wishing to claim rights over the child should approach the District Child Protection Officer with proper proof and supporting documents within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.
If no one claims rights over the child within the specified period, the child will be considered legally eligible for adoption under the Adoption Regulations, 2022, and further legal procedures will be carried out accordingly.
