Agricultural Machinery and Equipment to be Provided at Subsidised Rates
Under the Agricultural Mechanisation Scheme, 377 agricultural machines and equipment worth ₹4.30 crore have been allocated for farmers in Coimbatore district. The equipment includes tractors, power weeders, power tillers, grass cutters, rotary tillers, coconut shredders and other agricultural implements.
A 50% subsidy will be provided to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), women, and small and marginal farmers, while 40% subsidy will be provided to other farmers. Additional subsidies are also available for eligible categories for specified equipment.
From September, farmers can apply through the Uzhavar App during 1–7 and 15–21 of every month, by uploading the required documents. Beneficiaries will be selected through a computerised lottery system based on the target for each agricultural machine/equipment.
