Applications Invited for Temporary Cracker Shop Licences – Diwali 2026
As Diwali 2026 is scheduled to be celebrated on 08.11.2026, persons interested in setting up temporary firecracker shops in the rural areas of Coimbatore District, excluding Corporation areas, may apply online through e-Seva Centres by 18.10.2026.
The required documents, including the site plan, property tax receipt, consent letter from the building owner, original E-Challan receipt for the ₹700 licence fee, photograph, PAN, Aadhaar and Family/Smart Card, must be submitted along with the application.
The shop area should be between 9 and 25 sq. m. Shops should not be located near hospitals, schools, places of worship, marriage halls, commercial complexes, theatres, railway tracks, water bodies, high-voltage power lines or areas containing inflammable materials. A minimum distance of 3 metres must be maintained between shops, and the shop building must have two exits, including an emergency exit.
Eligible applications will be processed and temporary firecracker shop licences will be issued from 01.11.2026. Applications received after the prescribed deadline or those not complying with the stipulated conditions will not be considered, the District Collector, Thiru. Pavankumar G.
