District-Level Meeting for Electoral Literacy Club Coordinators
On 10-10-2026, a district-level meeting for Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) coordinators was held at the Coimbatore Corporation Kalaignar Arangam under the chairmanship of the District Election Officer / District Collector, Thiru. Pavan Kumar G. Giriappanavar, I.A.S. The meeting focused on promoting democratic values, voter rights and responsibilities, ethical voting practices, and awareness of electoral procedures among students and young voters under the ELC 2.0 initiative.
Discussions also covered conducting various awareness activities in schools, colleges, and universities, encouraging eligible first-time voters to register on the electoral roll through the ECINET application, and making necessary arrangements for special voter registration camps at 1,065 polling station centres across Coimbatore district to ensure that no eligible first-time voter is left out.
