Natural Farming Markets to Be Launched in Coimbatore District Uzhavar Sandhais from November 1, 2026
To promote natural farming and provide consumers with chemical-free vegetables and fruits, the Government of Tamil Nadu has arranged to allocate stalls in Uzhavar Sandhais (Farmers’ Markets) for certified organic farmers to sell their naturally cultivated produce. Natural Farming Markets will be inaugurated in all Uzhavar Sandhais across Tamil Nadu from 01.11.2026 (Sunday).
In Coimbatore district, the Natural Farming Markets will operate on the following days every week:
- Sunday: Pollachi, Sundarapuram, Mettupalayam and Vadavalli
- Monday: Kurichi and Sulur
- Wednesday: R.S. Puram
- Friday: Singanallur
These markets will function from 4:00 AM to 12:00 noon, in accordance with the regular working hours of Uzhavar Sandhais. Farmers practising natural farming are requested to apply at their nearest Uzhavar Sandhai, obtain an identity card and utilise this facility to sell their natural farm produce.
Farmers must possess a Scope Certificate issued by the Department of Seed Certification and Organic Certification.
